Children’s Ward Project.
One big problem Ghanaian hospitals face is lack of resources. This transcends into the children wards. In public hospitals, majority of families due to lack of financial resources are not able to maintain personal hygiene of their children. Cleanliness in the form of changing diapers, wipes and general cleaning supplies becomes a headache on its own. Although the hospitals try to subsidize fees, they can only go so far. Without these supplies however, infections and mortality rate amongst newborns increases. The Children’s Ward Project targets such wards and eases their burdens by providing the necessary supplies for newborns. Our last exercise in August 2022 met the needs of 300 African children. With the necessary support we hope to go into full time partnerships with several children’s wards to continue to meet thousands of newborns at their needs.
